The Innovatie Krediet is a risk-bearing loan and is meant to finance promising innovative projects (from ‘proof-of-principle’ to ‘proof-of-concept’). With the Innovatie Krediet the government fills a hole in the financial market, in which innovative projects get financial support for those that cannot be completely financed by own means or through the market. During this phase there is still no revenue and entrepreneurs can focus on developing.
